The language week in Malta

Our annual language week for the seventh forms took place in Malta from May 17th to 24th, 2017. The 31 students were accompanied by their two English teachers, Mag. Carina Kainmüller (7A) and Mag. Elke Barth-Alt (7B). In Sliema we all lived in pairs with host families and attended English lessons at the language school „am“ four days a week. The focus lay on speaking in small groups so that the students enlargened their vocabulary and used it for talking about and discussing various interesting topics. By experiencing life in a host family they got to know different cultures and lifestyles and by going on several trips they learned more about the history and geography of the islands of Malta and Gozo.
All in all, such a week broadens the students‘ minds and I really hope that future students will have the opportunity to go abroad for a week during the school year as well.
